Things to do at Minnow Lake

On this section of our web-site we will feature points of interest throughout Minnow Lake if you have any suggestions of buildings or sites to be included please let us know.

Sunset

Some dramatic sunsets occur over the Oak Forest Lookout Park. Best vantage points are the Bancroft Drive and Bellevue Waterfront parks. For a dramatic sunrise walk to the top of Blueberry Hill behind the Carmichael Arena.

    Training Centre

Once St.Pauls separate school, this building on Bancroft Drive is now home to the plumbers and pipefitters local union and also serves at a training centre.

View of Flag

Branch 76 of the Royal Canadian Legion is located on a hilltop just a few minutes walk from Minnow Lake. The site overlooks Lake Ramsey. This photo shows the view from the games, lounge and main meeting room areas of the Legion building. From this vantage point you can see down Lake Ramsey to Science North and Bell Park. Follow the signs off Bellevue Avenue and Bancoft Drive to get to this beautiful location. During the fall, winter and spring the Legion offers many activities of interest including afternoon dances with live bands that are very well attended.

Legion Picture

On the Canadian Legion property described above there is building dedicated to senior’s woodworking and arts and crafts for both men and women. Run by volunteers this is a very busy spot, except during the summer months, when every Sudburian takes off to the camp or cottage to enjoy the good weather. If you are interested in what goes on here just drop around any time.
